Post: Women Will Pay for an Obama Presidency: Obama’s Woman Staff Members Paid 17 Percent Less Than Men, McCain’s Paid More Than Men, McCain Hires More Women Than Obama Does

Heart, do I understand this to be a pro-McCain post? You’ve written several of these anti-Obama posts now. What’s up? Why are you joining the right-wing, fundamentalist pile-on?

Are you actually backing an anti-abortion, anti-gay candidate?

If so, how are these views feminist?

IF not, do you think still another post praising Palin is wise, this close to the election?

  1. Hey, they bought the veep a snazzy new wardrobe, too. Has Obama done anything like that for -his- veep? HMM? WELL?

yeah, okay, if it's true, then it sucks and they should change it. still doesn't mean I'm not voting for him: the actual policies affect me a helluva lot more than any corruption within the ranks.

    Lily Ledbetter, anyone?

  2. and really, paying them to do -what-, exactly? Pass out more whisper campaigns on how Obama is the anti-Christ and will induce forced abortions and Teh Gay on everyone? how special.

  3. I agree with you, BD. And I feel like I'd need more information before being sure how much this actually reflects on Obama. In the article, they do say:

"Why this disparity? One reason may be the under-representation of women in Obama’s highest-compensated ranks. Among Obama’s five best-paid advisors, only one was a woman. Among his top 20, seven were women."

Which raises its own set of questions, yes, but I don't feel certain this is not a possible valid reason. I'd have to know a lot more before knowing what's really being said. It doesn't sound to me like the article is comparing women and men doing comparable jobs.
